Description

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Black Peppercorns

1 cup Heavy Cream

1 cup Beef Broth (or Vegetable Broth for a vegetarian option)

2 tablespoons Butter (or plant-based butter)

2 Shallots, finely chopped

2 cloves Garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

Salt, to taste


Instructions

  1. Toast the black peppercorns in a dry pan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Finely chop the shallots and mince the garlic while the peppercorns cool.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then sauté shallots and garlic until translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stir, and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream and toasted peppercorns, and simmer for another 5 minutes until thickened.
  6. Season with salt to taste and serve immediately over grilled meats or roasted vegetables.

Notes

This sauce can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving. It pairs beautifully with steak, chicken, or even pasta.
