Description

Malvern Pudding is a rich and creamy dessert that beautifully combines simple ingredients to create an extraordinary flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups whole milk (or almond/coconut milk)

¾ cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)

3 large eggs (or silken tofu)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or imitation vanilla)

2 tablespoons butter (or coconut oil)

¼ cup cornstarch (or arrowroot powder)

Pinch of salt

½ teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, sugar, and salt. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  3. Gradually add a few tablespoons of the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture to temper the eggs.
  4. Pour the tempered egg mixture back into the saucepan and stir over medium-low heat until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and add butter and nutmeg or cinnamon, stirring until the butter melts.
  6. Pour the pudding into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.

Notes

Serve topped with fresh fruits, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel for added flavor.
