Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Create a well in the center, add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, and whisk until smooth.
- Heat about 3 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pan to 375°F (190°C).
- Using a funnel or piping bag, pipe the batter into the hot oil in a circular shape.
- Fry for 1-2 minutes on one side, then flip carefully with tongs and fry the other side for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar while warm.
Notes
For a healthier version, use whole wheat flour or substitute sugar with honey.
