Ingredients

- 1/2 cup Amaretto liqueur (or almond extract for non-alcoholic version)
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 package ladyfingers
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Cocoa powder for dusting
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Cherry Mixture: Cook cherries with amaretto and sugar over medium heat for 5 minutes. Let cool.
- Whip the Cream: Beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Mix the Mascarpone: Combine mascarpone, vanilla, and sugar, then fold in whipped cream.
- Layer the Components: Dip ladyfingers in cherry juice and layer in a dish, alternating with mascarpone and cherry mixture.
- Repeat the Layers: Create another layer with the remaining ingredients.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Serve: Dust with cocoa powder or top with dark chocolate shavings before serving.
Notes
Serve in individual cups for an elegant presentation. Store tightly covered in the fridge for up to three days.
